Science and Technology
STEM
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Each week the students partake in a one-hour session of STEM. It is highly interactive and predominantly hands-on.
STEM takes place every even year.
ICT
At Wattle Glen Primary School students use a variety of technologies to support student learning. ICT complements many different areas of our learning in Mathematics, Reading, Writing, Inquiry, etc. We endeavour to prepare students to become 21st century digital citizens through weekly experiences in ICT to ensure our students have the capacity to implement ICT skills across the rest of the curriculum.
Our school recognises the need for students to be safe and responsible users of digital technologies. As an accredited eSmart school we also ensure students are clearly taught appropriate ways to behave online. We believe that explicitly teaching students about safe and responsible online behaviour is essential, and is best taught in partnership with parents/guardians, who we work with to encourage the same behaviour at home.
