Our Staff
In 1995 I began studying a Bachelor of Arts/Legal Studies at La Trobe University. After completing this degree I began a Bachelor of Education at RMIT. I began teaching in the year 2000. I completed my Master of Education (Gifted Ed.) in 2005. In 2018 I completed a Graduate Certificate in Principal Preparation from Monash University.
I believe that every child has the right to be taught using evidence based approaches that have been proven to work. Students should leave primary school literate, numerate, and equipped with social and emotional skills to set them up for life. Students and staff should be proud of their school and look forward to attending each day.
My husband Maik is the Live Exhibits Manager at Melbourne Museum and we have two beautiful daughters. We have a dog named Macy and lots of other birds and reptiles living at our house. We love to travel and hope to explore many more parts of the world.
Joining Wattle Glen PS has been a great experience for me, and I am thankful for the opportunity to work with the staff and students.
Many years ago, I studied a Bachelor of Commerce at LaTrobe University. I worked for a couple of private companies before I had my first child and became a Stay at Home Mum. After my third child was born, I returned to work and was later accepted into a Program via the Department of Education to complete relief work in a school office. After my first placement, I was offered ongoing employment, however after five years of working for the same school, I decided to have a break to help my children during home learning. At the beginning of 2022, I decided to re-enter the workforce and was happy to be accepted by WGPS. I thoroughly enjoy working in a school environment and seeing the students smiling faces each day, brightens my day! Every child deserves the privilege to learn in a safe and happy environment, WGPS is exceptional in providing this opportunity.
When I am not working, I am a wife & Mum of three sons. We enjoy holidaying with our caravan and exploring our Great Country, this year we are hoping to get across to WA.
In 2011, I began studying a Bachelor of Education Prep- 12 at Victoria University. During this time, I received a scholarship to teach in East Timor for 3 weeks which was an amazing experience. In 2015, I began teaching as a CRT, working at a range of schools and year levels. I also went overseas to Europe for 8 weeks, where I taught English for a few weeks in Naples, Italy. Since 2017, I’ve been lucky enough to work at Wattle Glen Primary School.
Being a teacher allows me to provide students with the tools and resources they need to further succeed in their learning. I’m dedicated to the success of my students in and outside the classroom and endeavour to encourage, inspire and motivate them to become independent, lifelong learners. I believe it’s my job as a teacher to build positive relationships with my students and discover the ways in which they learn best, using evidence-based approaches. I aim to continuously develop my skills and knowledge as well as be an active member of the school and community.
I currently live with my family. My mums name is Beryl and I also have two younger siblings, Jessica and Brandon. I’m on the hunt for a house in the area I can call my own. On the weekends I enjoy spending time with my friends, going out for brunches and Pilates.
In 1991, I began studying a Bachelor of Education (Honours) at Victoria University. I began teaching in 1995. I have taught in a range of schools across the western and northern suburbs of Melbourne.
I believe that every child has the right to learn. All students need to be given the opportunity to learn using evidence-based practices. Students need to be given the skills to be both academically and socially / emotionally literate. I am passionate about teaching. I strive to continually improve my knowledge and skills and provide the best learning experiences for my students.
My husband is a general manager of sales for a leading International company. I have two children named Spencer and Cooper and two step sons as well. Being surrounded by boys certainly keeps me on my toes. Lucky my dogs, Maple and Lunar balance things out in our house. I love visiting live theatre, eating at beautiful restaurants and travelling (although have forgotten how to do this).
In 2017, I began my Bachelor of Primary Education and Disability Studies at RMIT University. During this time, I got to experience many different types of schools and found my passion in teaching at small schools. In 2021, I was fortunate to begin teaching at Wattle Glen Primary School.
As a teacher, I believe that every child deserves to be taught with the best evidence-based approaches available. Students should have a positive educational experience that allows them to grow into independent, lifelong learners that form strong social-emotional skills. By teaching students with these approaches, students are well-equipped with the tools and resources they need to be educated members of our society.
One of the most important things to me is my family. I am very close to my parents and I am fortunate to have their support in everything I do. I also have three siblings, an older sister and brother, as well as a younger brother. We have many pets, which keeps the house busy. On weekends I love to go on road trips, spend time with friends and take my dogs to the beach.
In 2013, I began studying for a double degree, Bachelor of Education / Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Disability), at RMIT. I then completed a Master’s of Learning Intervention (Disability) at The University of Melbourne. Since then, I have taught the early years in various mainstream and special education settings in the northern suburbs.
Every child is unique and should receive high-quality teaching instruction underpinned by evidence-based practices. Additionally, I consider the child's social development, emotional wellbeing, and academic aspects to ensure all elements are supported.
I have a very close and supportive family who strongly value a high-quality education. My mum, Dita, is the glue to our family and is always there for us all. My dad, Vic, is a computer programmer, and my brother, Adam, is studying for his Master's in spatial statistics and hopes to complete further study. In my spare time, I love spending time with my friends and enjoying trying new things, especially eating out at lovely restaurants throughout Victoria. I also enjoy the theatre and watching the cricket and tennis.
In 2013, I decided to leave my Allied Health career of 18 years as a Clinical Photographer and complete a Grad Dip of Education (Primary) at RMIT. I began my teaching career at Rosanna Primary School and taught in Foundation and years 3/4, remaining there for four years. I then moved to Eltham East Primary School and taught there for six years in a variety of year levels, mainly in Foundation and year 1, and held various leadership positions.
My passion in Education has always been for teaching in the junior years, with a special interest in trauma-informed teaching practice. I believe that every child is a unique individual with their own capabilities and potential for growth. I prioritise the importance of creating a nurturing and inclusive environment that fosters wellbeing, curiosity, creativity and a love of learning. I strive to provide hands-on experiences for my students to explore, experiment and make meaningful connections to the world around them. I value the collaboration between myself and parents in providing a holistic approach to their child’s education.
I live on 20 acres with my husband Andrew and two daughters, Stephanie who is studying her Masters at Monash University, and Jessica who is currently completing year 12. I am extremely proud of what they have achieved and the young women they have become. Andrew and I love working on our property and enjoy the wildlife that passes through. In my spare time, I enjoy doing Landscape Photography, running at Park Run on a Saturday morning, and using my welding skills to create metal sculptures for my garden.

In 2019, I began my journey to becoming an educator with a Bachelor of Education Studies at Victoria University. I graduated this course in 2021 and commenced my post-grad degree in a Masters of Primary Education the following year. I graduated in December of 2023 which makes me a new grad teacher this year!
I am passionate about educating and inspiring young minds and believe that all students deserve equitable opportunities to succeed within their classroom. I aim to foster a safe and comfortable space for my students to thrive in whilst providing support for a range of learning and personal needs.
My partner is a landscaper, my Dad is a literacy tutor, my mum was a primary school teacher for thirty years and my brother is going to be a police officer. Within the next couple of years I hope to do some travel, buy my very own first home and have an amazing start to my teaching career. I am very excited to begin my journey at Wattle Glen P.S and cannot wait to meet everyone.
After finishing high school, I thoroughly enjoyed learning about health and nutrition, this led me to complete a Bachelor in Public Health and Health Promotion. During this time, I was working as a tennis coach and in the kids area at the Australian Open. This opened my eyes to the fact that my greatest passion was working with children and helping them to achieve their goals. I then began my journey in education studying a Masters in Early Childhood and Primary Education. While studying I was lucky enough to secure a place in a Montessori kindergarten and spend some time working in some local primary schools.
As a teacher, I believe it’s important to understand that each student is different and are all capable of achieving common goals just in their own ways. It is therefore my job to give students the confidence and tools they need to succeed both academically and socially. In today’s world, I believe it is so important to have students interested in their own education and understand that there are multiple ways in achieving success in and outside the classroom.
In 2022 brought my first house with my partner which is very exciting. Sadly, we won’t be able to take our family dogs with us, so hopefully, we will have a puppy of our own very soon. On the weekends I enjoy catching up with my family and younger sister Olivia. I also enjoy trying new restaurants with friends.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Teaching in 2001 at Australian Catholic University and began teaching primary school students in 2002. I have worked at many schools and held numerous positions since then, including Adult education.
I believe every child has the right to an evidence-based education where the ‘whole child’ is nurtured and curiosity is fostered. I believe education is a partnership between all stakeholders; family, teachers, support staff, and community, and together we can achieve success for every student.
When I am not working I live in Briar Hill with my three children, Joey, Will and Maya, and our part-time dog Lenny. As a family, we love going on adventures and sharing these with our extended family and close friends.
My name is Natalia and I teach Prep/1 on Tuesdays at Wattle Glen Primary School.
I’m also a casual relief teacher at other local Primary schools. I love children and have four of my own; Mia 15, Evie 13, Zac 11 and Jax seven. My husband's name is Rick.
When I’m not in the classroom, I’m at sport with my kids. I love sport and play basketball and do CrossFit myself, but my favourite is to watch American Football.
I also love to travel and read. I can’t wait to meet you all and have a fantastic fun filled year.
In my grade 6 report, my teacher wrote that I had a strong sense of justice. Perhaps this statement sent me on a path. I always knew I wanted a job where I advocated for young people but it wasn’t until after completing a B.A. in Youth Affairs and experiencing work in this field that I realised I wanted to go back to uni and get my Graduate Diploma in Primary Teaching.
In 2001, I began my teaching career as a P/1 teacher at Fairfield Primary School and continued to be a junior school classroom teacher for the next 7 years taking on roles such as prep and maths coordinator. It wasn’t until I came back from maternity leave in 2009 that I undertook a series of professional development courses and came back part-time as a specialist teacher at Wattle Glen Primary. I also currently work at Warrandyte Primary as an Arts teacher too.
My move to being a specialist teacher fitted so well with my teaching philosophy which had always been a part of my classroom practice. Students learn when they make links to what they already know. When they can problem solve, complete open-ended tasks, perform experiments, interact with others, and manipulate materials, they are more likely to retain information because they form a connection- it is not just a transmission of information. I love being a specialist teacher at Wattle Glen!
When I am not at work I am hanging out at home with my partner Mark who is a Zoologist and my fabulous daughter who also attended Wattle Glen Primary School in her junior years. We also have an ill-behaved pet dog in the form of an adorable teddy bear-faced Lagotto Romagnolo (Italian water dog for the curious) called Allegra. All four of us love spending time at the beach.
I began my journey as a teacher way back in 1996, living in country Victoria and working as a CRT, studying and working for my mum’s business. I then travelled to England and Ireland and taught in many different areas of London for 2 years. I have been teaching and living in Melbourne since 2001 and have taught almost everything there is to teach, everywhere from Broadmeadows to Lalor and Eltham North.
I believe a school is a community. From the crossing supervisor to the cleaning lady, the office staff to the classroom teacher - every member of the school community has the ability to make a positive impact on the lives of our young people. I believe students learn as much outside of the classroom as they do in and I get so excited about the ways I can inspire and engage with the students and families I work with. I am a very proud mum of two daughters. Matilda is turning 13 and starting high school this year. She is taller than me, which is no ease feat, and is a keen artist. She inspires me every day with her creativity and kindness. Charlotte is turning 11 and will be in grade 5 this year. She is a whizz in the kitchen and with a make up brush. She is sassy and stubborn (shades of her mother) but that’s what I love about her. I love my arts and crafts and I love being busy! I love to cook and sew and knit and paint and draw and create and organise and listen to music. That’s me in a nutshell!
Out of high school, I started a Bachelor in Sport and Exercise Science before I discovered a love for coaching junior basketball and sports. I promptly changed career paths and in 2017 I began my Diploma of Education Studies at Victoria University, which lead me into a Bachelor of Education (P-12) in 2018, with a major in Physical Education and a minor in Mathematics. During my time in university, I was able to experience a wealth of schools and ages. During my final year of placement, I was fortunate enough to be given an opportunity to teach here at Wattle Glen and have since been, luckily, working here.
As a teacher, I believe everyone has the right to learn and participate to their fullest capabilities. I believe it is important for all students to participate in physical activity, or sport, as it allows students to not only lead a healthy lifestyle but also to develop social skills and build connections within the local communities.
I currently live with my partner Sophie, as all my family live up in Queensland. I play two mid-week basketball games as well as going to the gym to stay fit and active. On the weekends I head down to the footy to watch Collingwood play and spend my time with my mates.
I grew up in the United States where I earned my Bachelor of Science at the University of Massachusetts in 2002. During that time I studied abroad in Sydney and fell in love with Australia. I went on to complete my Diploma of EducationPrimary and Masters of Education from LaTrobe University. I taught primary school for 6 years and after having children, I became a Behavioral Therapist, gaining much experience supporting students with additional needs.
I strive to support all children to achieve their highest individual potential. I believe every child deserves to feel happy, included and challenged. I feel very fortunate to be part of the Wattle Glen P.S. community this year. I am married with two beautiful children, aged 10 and 12 . My husband, Evan, is a local Aussie and is the Head of Health and PE at a secondary school. Our family enjoys playing sports, travelling, spending time at the beach and spotting all kinds of wildlife.
I have been working in Paediatrics for 10 years, following completion of a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and Graduate Certificate in Occupational Therapy (Paediatrics).
I believe that every child is unique, and each follow their own developmental trajectory. Connecting with students and giving them a voice on their learning journey is a key factor for successful participation. No matter how big or small the successes, children should be celebrated for their hard work.
I enjoy travelling with my husband and two kids on the holidays and spend lots of time exploring local sites via bike and foot on the weekends. Having worked in the hospitality industry with my husband for many years, we love our food and spend lots of time cooking in our spare time.
I have always loved everything to do with language and literacy! I completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Applied Linguistics, followed by a Masters in Speech Pathology, before commencing as a Speech Pathologist with the Department of Education in 2014. I have had the privilege of working in around 20 schools as a Speech Pathologist through Student Support Services. I’ve also had the opportunity to work in the Department of Education in the Inclusion space and have enjoyed developing new skills and learning from my colleagues.
I care very deeply about helping students to reach their full potential; every student has their unique strengths and skills to offer, which we can harness to help them achieve their goals. I am passionate about inclusion and I am proud to be part of a profession that helps children to express themselves.
My beautiful children are endless sources of fun and energy and remind me every day that joy can be found in the simplest of things.
With many years of experience as a dental nurse, I made the exciting decision to shift my career path last year by enrolling in education support. I was thrilled to join Wattle Glen Primary School, a place that holds special significance for me as I grew up in the area.
My husband and I settled in Hurstbridge in 2021, and we’re proud to call this beautiful community home.
I’m passionate about supporting students and creating a positive learning environment. Outside of work, I cherish spending time with my two daughters, aged 7 and 9. Photography is another passion of mine, allowing me to capture precious moments with my family.
In my early years, I thought I would become an Archeologist, always having my head in an encyclopaedia reading about Egyptology, or a clothing designer, since I was always on my grandmother’s treadle sewing machine creating things. After high school, I worked in manufacturing which I loved, working with many varied people from all walks of life was a great way to learn about other cultures. I also worked in retail, namely the food sector, greengrocers, seafood and Safeway, again another great way to meet and learn about people. I completed several Tafe courses, getting a taste of many different career options, including Shillington college in Melbourne obtaining a Graphic Design degree.
I worked locally as a Sous Chef for almost 10 years, meeting some of the best people in the hospitality industry. Thinking forward to another career change, and having met so many people in my life and hearing their stories, I made the choice of Librarian or Ed Support Person. I decided to study Education Support as I believe every student has a right to be heard, guided and supported through their education to give them the best chance in life. I studied at Preston Polytechnic, getting a placement at Wattle Glen which firmly secured my love of helping students and showing them that they’re heard and loved when they need it, so they can feel confident going forward in their education.
At home I live with my two daughters, who both attend La Trobe Uni, one studying Business, the other studying Environment and Conservation and we share an old brown dog. In my spare time, I like to attend live music gigs and create as much art and craft as possible. My theory is there is always something new to learn.
In 2020, after our first period of remote learning, I began studying a Certificate III in Education support through Open Colleges. I completed my placement at Wattle Glen and have been lucky enough to continue working here this year.
I saw how much one on one learning helped my son and now I love being able to help students learn and grow with extra support. I believe all students have a right to feel safe, included and welcome at school. I love getting to know the students and watching their confidence in learning grow and I feel lucky to be working at such a beautiful school.
When I’m not working at Wattle Glen Primary School I am busy with my three boys. We have two dogs Winnie & Maggie and we love spending lots of time at the beach (when we’re not running around to basketball and football!).
In 2021 I started my certificate III in School-based Education Support, through the Australian College of Teacher Aides and Childcare. When it came to completing my placement, I came here to Wattle Glen Primary. I was lucky enough to be able to join this amazing team!
I believe that all children deserve to feel not only safe at school but also that their words and feelings are being heard. I will work hard to allow each student to grow confidence within themselves and all they do!
Outside of work, I live at home with my parents, who have always been my number one supporters. I have two older brothers with who I am quite close and two little dogs that have far too much energy.
I began my journey at Wattle Glen Primary School in September of this year, after taking the leap and changing careers from retail into Education Support. I’ve loved meeting all of our wonderful students, having chats in the yard and supporting them with their learning in the classroom with our fantastic teachers. I hope to continue to study and improve my skills in education support by training in Auslan in the second half of next year.
Wattle Glen has been an incredible school to begin my career in Education, the level of support offered is such an opportunity to all the students in our care. I believe all children have a right to education and to be able to access the curriculum in a way that accommodates their learning needs. All children have the ability to be great when they are nurtured and allowed to thrive in a safe environment.
My husband and I have two school aged children, Miranda and Luca. We would one day like to return to Southern Italy for an extended holiday where my husband grew up to show them how beautiful Italy is and to experience a different country to ours.
In 2014, l completed a Diploma in Children's Services. Which lead me to be a coordinator of an OSHC for 10 years. I completed my certificate 4 in education and support in mid 2023. Shortly after I started my time at Wattle Glen Primary School.
I strongly believe that all children have the abilities to learn new skills and grow to become a proud member of the community. It just takes one person to believe in them and show them that they care about their success. I am proud to be part of the WGPS community.
I have two children Isaac and Levi. My partner and I would love to travel back to Japan's Ski slopes again soon with our two beautiful energetic boys and show them the joys of skiing/ boarding down a wonderful white snow filled mountain peak.
I have worked in many different industries throughout my professional life. In 2006 I completed my Certificate IV in Hairdressing at Biba Academy. In 2013 I completed a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping and Accounting at Monash Institute. From there I went on to complete a Certificate IV in Education Support in 2022 at ITAC.
I am currently in the process of completing a Bachelor of Disability and Developmental Education at Flinders University with my focus being the implementation and improvement of inclusive education and advocacy.
I believe that all children have the right to feel safe, respected, included, and supported in all elements of the school environment. I am a strong advocate for inclusive education and strive tocreate a culture that celebrates diversity and builds on the strengths of each student. Where individual learning styles are encouraged and supported by utilising the most upto-date research and strategies that achieve the best outcomes for each student. I am very excited to be joining this wonderful community at Wattle Glen Primary.
My husband Michael is an electrician and we have 3 beautiful children. As a family we all love the beach. On the weekends, you will often find us out surfing or visiting different snorkelling sites around Victoria. One day Michael and I would love to take the kids to Fiji to dive on the beautiful reefs there.
In 1998, I began studying for a Bachelor of Engineering. After completing this degree, I started working for over 10 years in the water and wastewater industry. I completed my Master of Energy in 2013. In 2022, after our first and second period of remote learning, I began studying a Certificate III in Education support through Prace Institute. I completed my placement at Arthur’s Creek Primary School and have been lucky enough to be working at Wattle Glen Primary School this year.
I saw how much one-on-one learning helped my daughter during lockdowns and now I love being able to express the concepts and help students learn and grow with extra support. I believe all students are unique and individual. They have a right to feel safe and secure and get enough attention. I love getting to know the students and helping them to point out their learning targets in any field.
I would love to help children and young people who need special support to make the most of education by working with them in the classroom. I’d assist teachers in creating the best environment and suitable lessons for the pupils. They may find it difficult to learn because of a disability or health issue, family circumstances that have disrupted their education, or social, emotional and behavioural factors.
I have 2 daughters, Taniya and Anita, in which I am very proud of their achievements and how they are following their passions and interests. My partner Matt and I would love to travel, watch movies and participate in different activities as we are extroverts.
